Privacy Policy
Wylume helps you turn photos, stories, and ideas into content you can review, edit, and share. This Privacy Policy explains what information Wylume collects, how we use it, when information may be shared with service providers, and the choices you have about your information.
1. Information you provide to Wylume
The information we collect depends on how you use Wylume. It may include:
- Account information, such as your email address, authentication information, and profile information.
- Profile preferences, such as how you describe yourself, the kinds of things you like to share, and preferences you choose during onboarding or in your profile.
- Photos and other media that you upload to create content.
- Story information you provide through features such as “Tell Wylume about it,” including descriptions, product details, context, personal stories, or other information you choose to add.
- Post content, including generated captions, hashtags, edits, destination-specific versions, and other content you create or modify.
- Feedback and support information you provide when contacting us.
2. Information created while you use Wylume
Wylume also creates and stores information necessary to provide and improve the product. This may include:
- Drafts and creation progress.
- AI-generated or AI-enhanced images.
- AI-generated captions and post suggestions.
- Selected creation treatments and scene directions.
- Publishing and destination status.
- History records for posts created or published through Wylume.
- Technical usage, error, and AI-usage information.
3. Artificial intelligence features
Wylume uses artificial intelligence to provide features such as photo understanding, image enhancement or generation, content creation, and caption generation.
Depending on the feature you use, information such as your uploaded image, Story information, creation instructions, or other relevant context may be sent to an AI service provider so that the requested feature can be performed.
Wylume currently uses OpenAI services for certain AI-powered features. Wylume does not place private API credentials inside the mobile app.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate or may not reflect your intent. You are responsible for reviewing content before you publish or share it.
4. How Wylume learns from your activity
Wylume is designed to become more useful as you use it. To support personalization, we may store information about how you create and edit content, including:
- Captions Wylume initially generated.
- Edits you made before saving or publishing.
- Content you accepted without editing.
- The types of content you create.
- Creation treatments and directions you select.
- Preferences you explicitly provide.
This information may be used to understand patterns associated with your profile and improve future Wylume experiences.
Personalization information is associated with your Wylume account or profile. It is not intended to allow one user's writing preferences or content history to personalize another user's account.
5. Social accounts and publishing
If you choose to connect a supported social account, Wylume may receive information needed to identify and use the destinations you authorize, such as an Instagram Professional account or Facebook Page.
When social publishing is available and you choose to publish, Wylume may send your selected media and final post content to the relevant social platform.
Authentication credentials and social access tokens used by Wylume are handled on Wylume's server-side infrastructure and are not intended to be exposed to other Wylume users.
Connecting a social account is optional unless a particular feature specifically requires it.
6. How we use information
We may use information to:
- Provide and operate Wylume.
- Create and maintain your account.
- Store and resume Drafts.
- Understand the content you choose to share.
- Generate or modify images and captions you request.
- Personalize your Wylume experience.
- Publish content when you explicitly choose to do so.
- Maintain your Wylume publishing History.
- Enforce usage and cost safeguards.
- Diagnose failures and protect the security of the service.
- Respond to support requests.
- Improve Wylume's features and user experience.
7. Service providers
We rely on service providers to operate Wylume. Depending on the features you use, these may include:
Supabase
Wylume uses Supabase for services including authentication, database storage, private media storage, and server-side application functions.
OpenAI
Wylume uses OpenAI APIs for certain artificial intelligence features, including content understanding, image generation or transformation, and caption generation.
Meta
If you choose to connect Instagram or Facebook features, Meta may process information as necessary to authenticate your account and publish content you authorize.
Apple and Google
If Wylume makes Apple or Google sign-in available and you choose to use it, those providers may process authentication information according to their own privacy practices.
These providers maintain their own privacy policies and practices.
8. How we protect information
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect Wylume information. These include authenticated access, account-scoped data controls, private media storage, and server-side handling of sensitive service credentials.
No online service can guarantee absolute security, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.
9. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Wylume, maintain your account, support product functionality, meet security and legal requirements, and resolve disputes.
Different types of information may be retained for different periods. For example, Draft information may be retained so that you can return to unfinished work, while publishing records may be retained to provide History and delivery status.
10. Deleting your Wylume account
You may request deletion through the account-deletion controls available inside Wylume.
Account deletion is designed to remove Wylume-owned account data, including profile information, Drafts, Wylume media, personalization information, social authorization records, and other account-scoped Wylume information, subject to limited retention that may be necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or operational purposes.
11. Your choices
Depending on the features available to you, you may be able to:
- Edit the information you provide in your profile.
- Edit or delete unfinished Drafts.
- Choose whether to connect social accounts.
- Disconnect supported social accounts.
- Review and edit generated content before publishing.
- Log out of Wylume.
- Delete your Wylume account.
12. Third-party platforms
Wylume may contain links to, connect with, or publish content to third-party platforms. This Privacy Policy does not govern the privacy practices of those third parties.
Your use of Instagram, Facebook, Apple, Google, or other external services remains subject to the policies and terms of those providers.
13. Children
Wylume is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to Wylume, please contact us through our Support page.
14. Beta services
Some versions of Wylume may be offered as beta or pre-release software. Beta features may change, contain errors, or be discontinued as we evaluate and improve the product.
Information generated during beta testing may be used to understand product reliability, usability, creation behavior, and feature effectiveness in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Wylume evolves. When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
